F1 Ramp
F1 Ramp
The use for the F1 ramp was as a display item in a London airport terminal and as such required all of the materials to conform to strict guidelines. This meant that everything had to be fire rated including the cabling inside of the structure.
The frame was an aluminium box section forming the shape with 3mm opal and then 10mm clear Pet-G material machined to fit on the tops and sides with the fluorescent T5 tubes mounted in 6mm Pet-G frames inside to remove any shadows from the mounting points.
Everything was then wired with Low smoke fire rated cable. The actual F1 car was brought to the factory for trial and to make sure the light was sufficient to do the job.
