Renault F1 Display Ramp
Agency:
Fineline, in conjunction with Total Solutions were asked to retro-fit polycarbonate panels to an existing ramp framework to create an illuminated ramp to display one of Renault's Formula 1 show cars.
We were given the aluminium ramp and a set of rules and regulations that needed to be adhered to seeing as the ramp would be assembled within airport display space.
Polycarbonate panels were machined on our 3-axis routers and fitted with clear internal ribbing to allow them to be easily assembled and free-standing. 38 fluorescent tubes were fitted underneath the ramp illuminating the underside of the car and giving the illusion that the car was floating on the ramp.
5 led fixtures were mounted to a rear display frame to highlight sponsors names on the car.
Finally, we were provided with 4 wedges to hold the car in place on the ramp, but these were made from wood, so we designed and manufactured the polycarbonate wedges that you can see in a couple of the photos.
