Diablo was designed specifically to meet the requirements of challenging and often idiosyncratic outdoor work.
It's ultra-smooth movement is based on a 4 axes CNC machinery controller, accurate to .0001 of a degree, making it a highly controllable fixture. The unit sits on a base which houses the water reservoir, pumps and heat exchangers.
RF Communications system
With exterior searchlights often being in situations where they are scattered over far and wide distances and across hostile terrain (up mountains, across lakes and roads, etc), the need has arisen for reliable and robust radio communications between operator and fixture.
This dispenses with the nightmare scenario of running data cables over long distances and across rough ground where they are exposed to numerous hazards including being run over, attacked by wild animals and dumped on by the weather!
Fineline has developed this system to overcome all these challenges. It works on RF485/DMX via a transmitter and receiver unit, which encodes the DMX into RF and squirts out radio signal which then talks to the searchlight.
This will enable any DMX controller to run the Diablos from a safe a dry location while the units can be placed anywhere and be powered locally.
Control
Individual units can also be run from the control panel. This contains demo programs and macros for setting up and powering down the Diablo. Preset patterns can also be repeated to other units via a link cable.
Reliability
No compromises have been made in the construction of Diablo. Construction is of alluminium and steel - our overengineering seems to have paid off as we have not had a single incidence of failure on site.
